DISCOVER DESTINATIONS is dedicated to the outdoor photographer in all of us.  We focus on travel destinations, photography, landscapes and the outdoor activities.

While we want to help you to create awe inspiring photos, we cannot forget the human factor; which is, photography needs to be fun.  Once we lose site of this it becomes a chore.  Photography may sometimes feel like you are on a hunt and that you are there only to bag a "trophy."  You must remember  that you are often in locations which you have never been before. Take a moment, put down the lens, and look around you.  Absorb your surroundings.  You may see something that you have never seen before, that is when you pick up that lens again.

Take a "time out" and learn something about your subjects.  Taking a photo of an old tree is one thing, but when you can share a story it suddenly become alive.  "This is a Bristlecone Pine tree, which lives at 10,000 feet in the White Mountains; it is the oldest living thing on the planet.  Look at its knots and twisted branches...it reminds me of my mother-in-law."

Remember to bring home a photo and an experience!
